2013: A Recap

We've said it on Facebook and we've gone over it in the previous post, but let's make it official:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

As per blogger-usual, we thought we could round up our favourite looks from the past year, when our little virtual space really took off. So sit back, finger on your mousewheel/trackpad/touchscreen (we cater for everyone) and enjoy this sassy sashay down memory lane.

Here's to more out of 2014!

Fit for Shooting

When you've got quite the outfit (I felt exceptionally good, let me be!) and a photographer at your disposal, you've got to take advantage. Then again, going in front of the lens just after witnessing the model killing it during the shoot is quite the kick in the ego butt. But when in Rome…

Karl – who kindly took the photos below – will be rolling out the photoshoot we've styled throughout the week, so make sure to like his page and tune in to his work, and ours!

(I had a bad face day.)
Asos blazer and jeans, Zara jumper, Alexander McQueen boots

Love,

Sunday Circle: December Extras

We wrapped up the calendar year quite nicely in the December issue of the Sunday Circle, where we suited up to celebrate the festive season at the Palace, Sliema. As always, we bring you the shots that didn't make the final cut. Thanks again to the hotel, and to the wonderful Marija Grech for the photos.

Mexican Fall

No I'm not in Mexico (I wish), but this Zara coat is quote reminiscent of the home of the taco, all I need is a sombrero. I thought I'd let it live up to its glory, and wear a simple all-black outfit underneath to set it off nicely.

Morocococo

These past few months have been insane. What with so many events taking place, work taking a central position and personal projects picking up, sitting down and actually getting down to putting together this travel journal entry has been quite a journey in itself.

Sunshine in November

The above photo made its very dignified appearance on our Facebook page and Instagram (#cloudedrevolution, get in on the action). I find selfies totally excusable if you pull this sort of face. You know, ugly but not? We're so cute teddy bears want to take us home.

Pierced

There was a certain frisson (to use one of Nicole's favourite words) of anticipation as the guests filed into the hall. Their large number alone was testament to Luke Azzopardi's popularity. We watched curiously as they shuffled into Sir Robert Sammut Hall, reverently keeping their voices down as if in the presence of the Dalai Lama. "Reverence" is a good word, because it encompasses both the attitude of the attendees towards Luke's creative genius, and the designer's approach to the art he 'borrowed' for his Pierced collection. A twisted reverence, perhaps – if one had to imagine a conversation between Luke and the artists he referenced, with lots of hair whipping and flicking for good measure, it would go something like this: "I admire and adore your work. However, I have my own way of showing my appreciation, so you sit back and watch the show and let me do my thing with your work. You don't have a say in it, but you will like it." And like it we did.
