Pamela Love necklace / Alexander McQueen boots / Zara turtleneck jumper / Yves Saint Laurent hat / Isabel Marant x H&M jeans

Because there's no better escape than a bit of daydreaming. Who needs productivity, anyways? Procrastination is the way forward (or backwards, depending on your perspective).

The whole blogosphere and their mum is currently fawning, drooling, itching and hollering over Isabel Marant's capsule collection for H&M, which makes its store debut on the 14th of November, far away overseas. It's kind of pathetic that we don't have H&M here in Malta, really. Although, truth be told, there's always the God-given advantage of not finding some other prat walking the streets in your coveted items once you're back from your travels. I've been there. It wasn't pretty.

Pierced

There was a certain frisson (to use one of Nicole's favourite words) of anticipation as the guests filed into the hall. Their large number alone was testament to Luke Azzopardi's popularity. We watched curiously as they shuffled into Sir Robert Sammut Hall, reverently keeping their voices down as if in the presence of the Dalai Lama. "Reverence" is a good word, because it encompasses both the attitude of the attendees towards Luke's creative genius, and the designer's approach to the art he 'borrowed' for his Pierced collection. A twisted reverence, perhaps – if one had to imagine a conversation between Luke and the artists he referenced, with lots of hair whipping and flicking for good measure, it would go something like this: "I admire and adore your work. However, I have my own way of showing my appreciation, so you sit back and watch the show and let me do my thing with your work. You don't have a say in it, but you will like it." And like it we did.

Day 1 | London Diaries | The Shard

I flew off to London, again, and this time for a week long stay! Spent it with my lovely sister and gorgeous cousins and well, we had a blast. Thought I'd start sporadically sharing some outfit posts from my time there throughout the next week. The weather there was much fresher, so it was a good change thinking about adding layers to my outfits (or at least tights) once again.

The New Ones

Thought I'd introduce two new items that will soon become a staple in my wardrobe. I wore both to work yesterday together with an (almost) all black outfit. Ones the lovely leather handbag I got from Massimo Dutti, then there's the Chinese Laundry royal blue flats I've been pining after for quite a while!

Four Rooms

If you don't know Ritty Tacsum's name, get with the programme. The experimental photographer's work is both disturbing and entrancing, and her non-traditional approach to subject matter has earned her major popularity in both the underground and the mainstream art scenes, also landing her a book-cover gig for Alex Vella Gera's Is-Sriep Reġgħu Saru Velenużi. The title of the exhibition, held at St James Cavalier, is self-explanatory: four rooms, depicting four different aspects of Ritty's being. Very faithful to her vision, and unapologetic in its portrayal of religious iconography and intimate scenarios, amongst other things, the exhibition resonates with the human psyche on various levels.

Summer in October

Winter seems to have forgotten our island's existence and has allowed for Summer to reign on. I'm not one who deals well with low temperatures but currently my wardrobe is starting to look like a forlorn jumble sale.

This outfit is a representation of trying to make the most out of new pieces and trends while still remaining relevant to the 30-degree weather outside. I still make the mistake of going out with a leather jacket as soon as I feel as slight breeze and end up sweltering in the heat and regretting my outfit choice later on in the day.

TCR x Debenhams #1

We're extremely happy to launch our video collaboration with the local branch of international brand Debenhams in order to showcase their A/W '13 collection on our bloggy selves. We were thrilled when Debenhams contacted the three of us not only because it's our first brand collaboration, but also because we were left to our own devices, which is always music to our ears.

Armani Jeans

You may remember that one of our sponsors for our very first feature on the Sunday Circle (which already seems like aeons ago) was Armani Jeans, so we were very happy to attend the opening of their new store in Bay Street. Take note: if you want to throw a great event, make great cocktails. Campari Mojitos? Our arms, and mouths, are wide open.

Bright Lights

Two weekends ago I got dressed up for an afternoon wedding. Feeling strangely nostalgic towards summer I thought I'd give an ode to the last few days of the season and stick to a brighter colour palette.

Power Dressing to the MAX(&Co)

Earlier on this week, we were invited to a preview of Max & Co's Autumn/Winter 2013 collection at their store in Tower Road, Sliema. Having made use of some items from the brand's current collection for our Sunday Circle feature earlier this month, we were more than eager to visit once again.

A Spot of Fashion Literature

It by Alexa Chung, Seeking Love, Finding Overalls by Leandra Medine, The Asylum by Simon Doonan

My life so far has been centred around obsessions. I was saved from this unhealthy predilection for addiction when I was younger, but that period of hormones and transmogrification known as adolescence was the starting point for my temporary fixations. At one point I remember being adamant about wanting to learn the drums. I still fantasize about it to a certain degree, but the pattern thus far has been an endless series of substitutions and fads. Panic! at the Disco was one of them. I had a mammoth-sized crush on the pale, dark-haired, baby-faced lead singer. One of the less toxic obsessions I harboured was reading. I've got shelves of books at home that I always eye with pride and a certain fondness. Then came a time when the age-old cliche that style and clothes are an expression of our personality dawned on this little head and my focus shifted once again, like a gear lever in traffic.

We've managed to plaster our faces on the pages of The Sunday Circle for one more issue in this trend-centric feature photographed by Matthew Spiteri. As you may or may not know, the Wignacourt Museum has recently reopened following a head-to-toe makeover (in keeping with the spirit of fashion lingo), so they have kindly accepted to host us as we posed and chattered amidst the great heritage contained within. The article and photos will be available online soon, for those who couldn't get their hands on a printed copy. In the meantime, enjoy the extra shots!

Also, look out for Saz Mifsud's scarves, whose launch we featured in a previous post. All available online at www.sazmifsud.com.

Monochrome In Motion

A while ago, Pavli Medvedova asked us if we wanted to collaborate on her online magazine, which we thought was a perfect opportunity to put our styling caps back on. So we enlisted the help of trigger master Karl Cutajar and rising star Amy Zahra (Supernova Model) in order to shoot a B&W story called Monochrome In Motion. Trivia: the clothes are all our own!

Keep your eyes peeled for more stuff, as September has been quite a busy month and October is threatening to take pole position in the hectic race! We can't really complain though, because we are expecting some amazing results.

utilitarian

You've just got to love a Zara sale, and an oversized shirt of course! I've been living in this shirt for a week now. It's the epitome of comfort, and I find something so Parisian chic about the silhouette created when an oversized shirt is paired with straight-leg trousers.

a night of fashion in the heart of sliema

My busy work schedule means that I rarely have time to actually physically hit the shops, often reverting to the Internet for my little sprees. So I was thrilled when I received an invite to the Bisazza Street Night of Fashion, where shops were open until 10pm. Sliema's busiest shopping street was full of people, hair and beauty stalls and a runway of course! I managed to squeeze in a few shots of the show before my iPhone battery gave in to hours of usage.
