We Ran Away!

We've been bad.

Only not really. We did miss the Fashion Awards, but only because Nicole promised to watch a show by Naupaca Dance Factory and Sandro tagged along because, well, why not? Luke, whose clothes we showcased in the shoot we styled for Steph Galea, is the costume designer for the dance company, and also a very dear of friend of Nicole's, so we decided to go to Gozo bright and early (which, in our books, means around noon), have lunch, go to the beach (where we discovered the joy of finding sand in crevices of our body we didn't know existed) and then go to Victoria to watch Immaculate as part of the Lejliet Lapsi schedule of events.

WHAT A SHOW. Still speechless and processing. The setting, especially the water room, the intimate atmosphere, the unconventional approach both in the intimacy of the show and to the story of the Virgin Mary (played by the beautiful Rachel Galea) all mixed together to deliver a powerful blow to the senses. It might sound like an exaggeration, but you had to be there. We also took a few photos (iPhone shots, unfortunately, but they're clear enough) of the small exhibition preceding the show, with costumes and props used in previous Naupaca productions.

Here are some highlights from the abovementioned exhibition:

The following morning, after sleeping like newborns, we packed (boo!) and headed off to Victoria to have breakfast (pains au chocolat and brioches – heaven on a plate) before we parted ways, with floods of tears and passionate hugs. JOKE. We were already exhausted because our beloved Siris decided to guide us through the Calvary in order to get to Qala. Also, it was windy as eff. The sun was still out, though, so not all was lost.

Living on an archipelago is quite convenient, because you can plan a weekend away from home without breaking the bank. It's a lot quieter in Gozo, so if you're looking for peace of mind amid beautiful scenery, it's the perfect place.

It was also Mother's Day that Sunday, so we'd like to wish our mothers a belated Happy Mother's Day (don't worry, we did tell them on the day).

Love,

S&N x
